Maulana Fazal opposes creation of Siraiki province

MULTAN, September 20, 2011 (PPI): Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam has said that history has proved that dissent note of our elders regarding creation of Pakistan was correct but they were branded as anti-Pakistan elements while those who were champion of Pakistan movement negated its creation and did everything against the basics of Islam and plundered the national wealth by occupying the power corridors and now they are claiming that Pakistan is a secular state.

Addressing a press conference here Tuesday after attending a ceremony of Jamia Qasim-ul-Aloom on new academic year, he said that those who made Pakistan were now describing them as Punjabis, Pushtoon, Muhajirs, Sindhis and Balochis.

“Now Ulema are fighting alone for Muslim entity and for recognition of Pakistan as an Islamic state, “he added. Maulana Fazalur Rehman said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani was fanning linguistic hatred in the name of Siraiki province for which he had no strong reason.

He said:”Gilani was playing politics to contest elections based on Saraiki province and was dreaming to appoint his son as Governor Siraiki province. JUI chief said that international interest and priorities and our strategic partnership with them was harming our national integrity, solidarity and Security. Maulana said that those who would protect and safeguard the interest of United States would be the rulers of Pakistan. He contended that Peoples Party and ANP were doing work on the roadmap of America to maintain their power.
