Ahmadinejad leaves Nouakchott for Khartoum

Nouakchott, Sept 26, IRNA - Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, after meeting his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, left Nouakchott for Khartoum.

President Ahmadinejad left Mauritania for Sudan to confer with the country’s President Omar Hassen Al-Beshir on ways of promoting bilateral relations and discuss regional developments.

In the meeting with Mauritanian counterpart, President Ahmadinejad said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to make use of existing potentials of both countries in line with the two sides' interests.

Relations between Iran and Mauritania are very friendly, he said, adding that Mauritania possesses ample natural resources as well as talented human resources and workforce.

Both sides also explored grounds for expansion of all out cooperation between the two countries.

President Ahmadinejad and his high-ranking entourage left New York Sunday morning for Nouakchott where they were officially welcomed by the Mauritanian president./end
