Salehi: Iran spares no effort to help G15

Tehran, Sept 26, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi attended on Sunday the G15 summit in New York where he said the Islamic Republic of Iran spares no efforts to help G15 attain its goals.
In his speech, Salehi said G15 is to play a more active role in international fora, adding, “I am quite confident that the grouping would be able to play a more important role at international levels using the capabilities of each member state.'
To attain the goal, it is necessary that the capabilities and interests of the G15 be recognized and properly used, he said.
Since G15 countries account for one third of the world's total population, it is necessary that member countries closely cooperate with one another and help meet their economic needs in various fields such as agriculture, manufacturing, industries, infrastructure and rendering services, Salehi said.
G15 should try to absorb more foreign investments, he underlined.
Members of G15 should identify existing hurdles and help remove them in order expedite the activities of the grouping, he said.
In line with the activities of the G15, Iran is ready to hold two different meetings themed “Management of water resources” and “Renewable Energy,” said Salehi.
