Telecom minister: Iran-China cooperation, fruitful

Beijing, Sept 27, IRNA -- Iranian Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Reza Taghipour said on Monday in Beijing Iran-China cooperation will be fruitful for both nations.

“Accordingly I will discuss the ways of expanding ties with relevant Chinese officials especially about Internet, Software and networking, he said upon his arrival in Beijing.

Taghipour is on a visit to China upon an invitation from his Chinese counterpart on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of initiating the two countries diplomatic ties.

Taghipour added that since China has a very good record in Information Technology, Iran has kept eyes on the country in line with the Five-Year Economic, Social and Cultural Development Plan to develop the infrastructures of electronic administration.

Taghpour told IRNA that the country's officials are to sign an agreement with the Chinese officials and are to propose to hold a joint cooperation commission.

He is scheduled to visit Chinese Minister of Industry and Information Technology Lee ei Jong tomorrow./end
