Iranian Kurds stage rally against PJAK terrorist group

Sanandaj, Kordestan prov, Sept 27, IRNA – A group of Iranian Kurds from different walks of life staged a rally Monday to protest crimes committed by PJAK terrorist group in this western province.

The protesters, composed of businessmen, athletes, workers and other ordinary people, called on the country's military forces to confront the terrorist group seriously.

Chanting slogans against the US, Israel and the terrorists, the protesters condemned PJAK and its agents inside the country.

They have also protested against the support extended by the bullying powers to terrorists worldwide.

PJAK is an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is known as a terrorist group by much of the international community. The PKK has been fighting the Turkish government since 1984 for an independent state in southeastern Turkey.

Both terrorist organizations are stationed in the mountainous border areas in the Iraqi Kurdistan region in northern Iraq./end
