Afghan FM: No deal for US military bases in Afghanistan

New York, UN, Oct 1, IRNA – No deal has been made between Kabul and Washington for establishing US military bases in Afghanistan, visiting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Zalmay Rasoul said here Friday.
Rasoul is currently in the US to attend the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly.
Speaking exclusively to IRNA, the Afghan minister said that there was no agreement for establishment of US military bases in Afghanistan after the US troops complete withdrawal from that country which is to take place based on a previous agreement, by 2014.
According to Rasoul, Afghan forces would take over control of their country after the US troops complete exit.
He also hailed Tehran’s support for Kabul in all aspects, economic fields in particular./end
