Iran-Tajikistan underline support for Intifada
Tehran, Oct 2, IRNA – Head of Tajikistan-Iran Parliamentary Friendship Group and Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani underlined support for Palestinian Intifada.
On the sidelines of the 5th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada, Qorbanali Dolatshahovich met with Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani here on Saturday.
In the meeting, Larijani said that today, the issue of Palestine is the problem of the Islamic World and Tajikistan, as an Islamic state, with its active participation in the conference has shown that it is a supporter of Palestinians.
He added that cultural, linguistic, historical and religious commonalities between the two countries, in spite of geographical distance, has maintained intimacy and fondness.
Larijani continued that cooperation between the two states in the fields of exchanging water and energy has opened new chapters in mutual relations.
Doulatshahovich, for his part, said his country is willing to increase level of relations and added that infra-structural projects, which are being executed in Tajikistan by Iran are a great help.
Finally, he called for support of Majlis for developing parliamentary relations between the two parliaments in all fields./end
