Russia: Ties with Iran to expand fast

Moscow, Oct 6, IRNA – Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman announced here Wednesday evening that good relations between Iran and Russia are to further expand very fast.

Alexander Lukashenko made the comments in a press conference, adding that Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Ramin Mehmanparast is to visit Moscow next week.

Lukashenko reiterated, “Under such conditions that the two countries’ officials keep meeting each other, the visit of Mehmanparast to Moscow is further proof for the rapidly expanding good bilateral relations.”

Lukashenko added, “It is quite comprehensible, as Iran is our old times’ good neighbor and we have multilateral cooperation with Tehran that would be further expanded.”

Lukashenko further noted that “in the course of Tehran-Moscow relations, over the past few months, the exchange of delegations has become very intense and the Bushehr Nuclear Plant as a turning point in our bilateral relations, was functionalized fully under the supervision and control of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).”

He reiterated "that is also further proof for the high level relations between Iran and Russia.”

Lukashenko noted: “There are of course issues involved in Iran-Russia bilateral relations which are observed in relations between any two countries, and each side keeping in mind the interests of both try to solve them.” /end
