Salehi: Five littoral states can decide on Caspian Sea
Tehran, Oct 9, IRNA – Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said the Caspian Sea belongs to its five littoral states and any decision on the sea should be made with participation of all five states.
Speaking in a joint press conference with his Kazakh counterpart, Salehi added that the Caspian Sea should be demilitarized without presence of any foreign country.
On the boudaries between national and common waters, Salehi pointed out these are cases which need to be discussed to reach a full agreement.
He underlined that consultations about the Caspian Sea Legal Regime Convention have had good progress adding that the problem should be settled with patience./end
