Iran-Tajik FMs stress need for finalizing joint projects

Kuwait, Oct 11, IRNA – Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Iran and Tajikistan in a meeting on sidelines of ongoing Asian Cooperation Dialog (ACD) here Monday evening stressed need for finalizing joint economic projects.

Iran's presidential Office website reported that Foreign Affairs Ali-Akbar Salehi in his meeting with his Tajik counterpart Hamrah Khan Zarifi reviewed the latest status of ties between both countries in the political, economic and cultural fields.

In the meeting, both officals also stressed the need for broader level cooperation besides finalizing the joint economic projects.

The ACD was inaugurated in June 2002 in Cha-Am, Thailand, where 18 Asian foreign ministers met together for the first time. Today, the ACD comprises 30 Asian countries.

The 9th ACD Ministerial Meeting was held in Tehran for two days on November 8th and 9th, 2010.

The current ACD summit brings together foreign ministers and senior officials from Asia's top economies China, Japan, India and South Korea with their counterparts in the world's leading oil producers, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar, in addition to Russia./end
