TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in a meeting with outgoing Russian Ambassador to Tehran Alexander Sadovnikov underlined the friendly relations with Moscow, and said the ups and downs in the two countries' ties are "normal".
"Tehran can be a reliable friend for Russia and the two countries share common views on different issues," Salehi said during the meeting in Tehran on Saturday.

He called on both sides to make joint investment in common areas to further develop their bilateral relations and mutual cooperation, and said, "Iran and Russia need each other and we can support each other."

The Russian diplomat, for his part, called for increasing reciprocal visits by the two countries' officials, and underlined that Tehran and Moscow enjoy great capacities and potentials.

Iran and Russia enjoy friendly ties and have signed numerous agreements in various fields in recent years.
