MP: Aliens have high hopes in Iran’s upcoming parliamentary elections

Qom, Nov 1, IRNA – Head of Clergies Fraction at IRI Parliament, Majlis, said here Monday evening aliens have high hopes in Iran’s upcoming parliamentary elections hoping to take full disadvantage of occasion.
According to the IRNA reporter in Qom, Hojjatoleslam Mohammad-Taqi Rahbar made the comment in a meeting with prominent Qom Seminary Master, Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi-Amoli, considering the clergies as the standard bearers of the society, adding, “Plots aimed at elimination of this social class have been initiated as of very old times, but today this move has been further activated.”
He referred to the role played by the Supreme Leader of the Revolution in the Islamic world, arguing, “Today the world is closely watching the conduct of the Supreme Leader and the Iranian nation, as the supporters of the Islamic system.”
Representative of Isfahan Constituency at the Majlis emphasized, “The pivotal role of the clergies in the society must be preserved because the high hope of everyone is focused on the prominent personalities at the seminaries.”
Pointing out that the west is going through a very special era of it existence today, he said, “Under such circumstances, the clergies, the Majlis, and the government must present a successful image to them.”
Hojjatoleslam Rahbar proposed to Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli that it is necessary for the seminary under such circumstances to dispatch delegations to various Islamic countries and to strengthen interactions with the Islamic world and with the cultural societies.
The IRNA reporter in Qom has not quoted any sentence from Ayatollah Javadi-Amoli in the meeting.
The four-year term of the Iranian Islamic Parliament, Majlis, would end in January, 2012, and the parliamentary elections would be held after it.
That would be the first nationwide election after the 2008 Presidential Election, and the next nationwide election after it would be the 2013 Presidential Election, unless the next parliament would vote for a constitutional change in favor of a parliamentary system to replace to present republican system, as the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution hinted in his recent visit of Kermanshah Province, in which case the parliament would itself and on behalf of the people chose the country’s next head of the executive branch of power./end
