Salehi Confers With Armenia President, Highlights Understanding

Tehran, Nov 9, IRNA -- Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Tuesday Iran and Armenia cooperation is based on mutual understanding.
He made the remarks in a meeting with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Yerevan, Armenia.
Salehi expressed hope that implementing new projects and the existing mutual understanding would lead to further expansion of ties between the two neighboring countries.
Referring to Sargsyan’s visit to Tehran last March, he expressed hope that exchange of high ranking delegations especially at the level of Presidents would lead to further strengthening of mutual ties.
The foreign minister briefed President Sargsyan on Iran’s stand about the regional and international developments especially what is happening in Arabian countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
President Sargzyan said that he was pleased with expansion of economic and trade cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran adding that Armenia is eagerly willing to host President Ahmadinejad.
President Sargsyan recalled the joint projects underway in Armenia about energy, transport, electricity, oil swap and dam construction, he expressed hope the project would be finalized soon./end
