Iranian culture minister meets counterpart in Saudi Arabia
TEHRAN,Nov.12(MNA) -- Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini who is in Saudi Arabia for the hajj rituals met with his counterpart on Thursday.
They both discussed cultural relationships in the Islamic world.
Hosseini talked about the importance and role of culture in expansion of bilateral relations and said, “Both ministries can help in boosting cultural relations and organize Quranic international exhibitions, which can play a major role in reinforcing bilateral relations.”
Saudi Arabian Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Aziz Khoja also emphasized cultural and historical affinities and the necessity to deepen cultural collaboration. He said that Iran is an important country in the neighborhood and that both countries have good relations.
He also praised the role of Iran in preserving the Quranic arts and said that Iran possesses great expertise in restoring Quranic inscriptions and has made good progress in this field.
Abdul Aziz Khoja also mentioned that Medina has been announced as the Cultural Center of Islamic World in 2013, and will be celebrating the event. He invited Iran and all Islamic countries to attend the celebration.
