Aishwarya-Abhishek become proud parents of baby girl

Mumbai, Nov 16 (PTI) Indian cine actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to a baby girl this morning at a private hospital in Mumbai where she had been admitted on Monday night. Her husband Abhishek Bachchan, also an actor, broke the news on Twitter, saying "IT'S A GIRL!!!!!! :)))))". Abhishek later tweeted, "Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. Both Aishwarya and the baby are doing great and taking some much needed rest." A jubilant father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan joined in: "I AM DADA (grandfather) to the cutest baby girl!! A dada ji ... Ecstatic !!!!" Several celebrities visited the hospital to greet the new born and the mother. Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai had got married on April 20, 2007. Counted among world's most beautiful women, Aishwarya, 38, the 1994 Miss World started her acting journey with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film 'Iruvar' in 1997. Since then, she has appeared in a number of Bollywood and Hollywood movies including 'Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', 'Devdas', 'Dhoom 2', 'Guru', 'Jodhaa Akbar', 'Enthiran', 'The Last Legion' and 'Pink Panther'.
