Iran’s cooperation with IAEA depends on its attitude
TEHRAN, Nov. 21 (MNA) -- On the sidelines of an exhibition held in Tehran, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said on Sunday that Iran’s further cooperation with the IAEA depends on the attitude it will adopt.
Larijani, who was speaking to reporters, dismissed as “unrealistic” the report by IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano released on November 8, in which he said that Iran appears to have worked on designing an atomic bomb.
The Iranian MP added that Iran has been cooperating well with the agency, but the IAEA has strayed from the legal path.
“The continuation of contact and the way of cooperation with the agency depends on its behavior,” Larijani, a former nuclear negotiator, stated.
He also announced that the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee will review a plan calling for reviewing Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA.
“We should take the measures necessary to enlighten the world public opinion about the report,” he said, adding, “If the agency intends to deprive Iran, which is a member (state), of its rights, we will take the necessary measures.”
