Intl. Arts Festival of Resistance kicks off in Tehran
TEHRAN,Nov. 23 (MNA) -- The Saba Art and Cultural Institute is playing host to the second edition of Iran’s International Arts Festival of Resistance, reviewing artworks by Iranian and world artists in different sections.
The festival was inaugurated on Monday in the presence of Iranian Academy of Arts (IAA) Director Ali Mo’allem Damghani, and Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Mohammad Ali Jafari, the Persian service of Fars News Agencies reported on Tuesday.
“The art festival of resistance aims to review works by the artists from Iran and the world artists in different sections of drawing, painting, graphic design, cartoon, sculpture, photography and animation,” Sadeqi said at the opening ceremony.
“The Iranian artists of the past three generations and a group of world artists are attending the festival. Of course, I need to mention that recent events happening in the Islamic countries over the past two years has created some problems for the world artists in attending the event,” he said.
Sadeqi added that the festival will be having a permanent secretariat in the future and that two books covering the first and second festivals will be published by the end of the program.
The festival will be running for one month at the institute located on Mozaffar St., off Taleqani Ave. near Felestin Square.
