Russia, Azerbaijan ready to take part in Iran’s $400m rail project

TEHRAN, Nov. 26 (MNA)-- Russia and Azerbaijan announced readiness to participate in the implementation of the 400-million-dollar Rasht-Astara railway project in north of Iran, an official with the Islamic Republic of Iran Railways Company stated. Abbas Nazari added that the three countries is scheduled to hold a meeting within the next month to decide on signing a contract with an international consultation company to start preliminary studies in this regard. The railway will be a75 kilometers long and will be constructed at the cost of $400 million, he noted. The project will be completed in two years, he said.
