No agreement yet on former England coach Eriksson move to Iran`s Persepolis
TEHRAN,Nov. 26 (MNA) -- Persepolis General Manager Mohammad Ruyanian said on Friday that Sven-Goran Eriksson will make decision whether to take over Persepolis by the end of next week.
Eriksson and Ruyanian met on Wednesday in the Kish Island, located south of Iran and discussed the possibility of taking over the Tehran-based football team.
“So far, we have not reached an agreement with Eriksson. He will decide until the end of next week. We discussed some details in our meeting including the deal and about his assistants in our team,” Ruyanian said.
“We are also negotiating with two other big names. Without a doubt, the best option will be appointed as Persepolis coach,” the Persepolis general manager added.
The 63-year-old Swede has worked in six countries so far. He began his coaching career with two Scandinavian teams, then left his homeland to become Portugal’s Benfica coach.
Eriksson led Roma, Fiorentina, Lazio and Sampdoria of Italy. But he disappointed at Manchester City and Notts County and was fired by Leicester City last month.
Eriksson has also coached Mexico and Ivory Coast.
