Gabala camp “a brilliant opportunity” for building cooperation among young environmentalists

Baku, November 27 (AzerTAc). “A Gabala international camp is a brilliant opportunity for building cooperation among young environmentalists,” said Rainer Vakra, an Estonian parliamentarian. Azerbaijan`s city of Gabala has hosted the International Camp of Young Environmentalists, entitled “The role of youth in environmental management: present and future”. It was organized by IDEA–Internationall Dialogue for Environmental Action. “The camp is also of huge importance in terms of increasing the youth`s awareness.” “The youth are the driving force of the camp, and this is a very positive factor, because the youth who are participating in this camp are future leaders, businessmen and scholars,” noted Vakra. The Estonian MP also stressed the importance of the Gabala Declaration adopted at the camp, expressing hope it would contribute to “solving environmental problems facing the people around the globe”. The Gabala camp brought together young delegates from about 40 countries to discuss most pressing environmental issues, including climate changes, environmental consequences of economic development and carbon emissions.
