US lawmakers said they had reached a "breakthrough" in negotiations early Sunday and were poised to announce a formal deal on an unprecedented US$700 billion Wall Street bailout to avert the country's worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.

'TRAFFIC JAM STARTS AT KANCI TOLL'

The volume of vehicles passing northern Java coastal highway drastically increased on Sunday, three days prior to Lebaran (Eid Fitri) Muslim Holiday. As the consequence, at 3 pm Western Indonesian Time (WIB), there was a traffic congestion up to 24 kilometers long, from the gate of Kanci Toll road to Losari.

SPECIAL TREATMENT FOR YOGYAKARTA MUST BE MAINTAINED

The Central Government must guarantee the special status for Yogyakarta Province. The guarantee is important in the run up to the second term of office of the Yogyakarta Governor and Vice Governor, Sultan Hamengku Buwono X and Paku Alam IX, which will end on October 9, 2008.
