European countries should think about their own interests:Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson

TEHRAN, Dec.14(MNA)--Asked to comment on the fact that a number of diplomats who were recalled by their governments in protest at the incident at the British Embassy in Tehran on November 29, have not yet returned to the country, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said, “Bilateral relations between Britain and us, should not damage our relations with other countries. European countries, under political pressure, may take measures which would endanger their interests… It would be better if European countries take their interests and bilateral relations into account.” On November 29, after a demonstration held to protest against the British government’s hostile policies toward Iran in front of the British Embassy in Tehran, a number of Iranian students from various universities entered the British Embassy compound and pulled down the Union Jack. Britain, Germany, France, and the Netherlands recalled their envoys from Iran after the incident.
