Iranian jurist prepares draft constitution for Islamic countries

TEHRAN, Dec.17(MNA) – Iranian scholar Abbas Karimi, who is versed in jurisprudence, has drawn up the draft of a proposed constitution for the Islamic countries, which have undergone a political transformation as a result of the Islamic awakening, at the request of these countries’ revolutionaries. The Iranian jurist has written the draft based on the principles of republicanism and Islamism and the tenets of the Islamic awakening. Karimi, who is a candidate for the post of the presidency of the Islamic Azad University, has also presented some proposals for amending Egypt’s interim constitution. The Provisional Constitution of the Arab Republic of Egypt or Constitutional Declaration of 2011 is the new provisional fundamental law of Egypt. It was adopted on March 30, 2011 by the Egyptian Supreme Council of the Armed Forces who have been in power since the ouster of president Hosni Mubarak on February 11, 2011.
