Iran-Tatarstan Review Cooperation

Tehran, Dec 19, IRNA – Visiting Tatar President Rustam Minnikhanov and Iran’s Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi discussed ways of promoting mutual cooperation here on Sunday. Salehi expressed pleasure with the level of commercial and economic ties between the two states and said his country welcomes interactions between the universities and exchange of instructors and students. Iran is ready to promote cooperation in all fields, he noted. Minnikhanov, for his part, said that his country is willing to expand ties with Iran and hoped that Tatarstan will play its due role in developing bilateral ties. Admiring Iran’s achievements in various fields, he also said that the autonomous republic is ready to have cooperation with Iran in the fields of oil, auto manufacturing and energy. Tatarstan is part of Russian Federation. Minnikhanov earlier inspected southern province of Bushehr to get first hand account of Iranian oil industry facilities in South Pars gas field in Assalouyeh. During his one-day visit, Minikhanov also toured phases four and five of South Pars development project as well as Borzuyeh and Arya Sassol petrochemical facilities./end
