Iranian new deputy foreign ministers, ambassadors appointed

TEHRAN, Dec.21(MNA) – Abbas Araghchi has been appointed as the new deputy foreign minister for Asian and Oceanian affairs. Araghchi, who formerly served as Iran’s ambassador to Japan, replaces Mohammad Ali Fathollahi who will serve as an advisor to Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi. Asghar Khaji, who formerly served as Iran’s ambassador to Belgium, has also been appointed as the new deputy foreign minister for European and American affairs, replacing Ali Ahani. In addition, Ahani has been appointed as the new ambassador to France and will replace Mehdi Mir-Aboutalebi.
