Registration of Iran`s parliamentary candidates starts Saturday

TEHRAN, Dec. 24 (MNA) – The Iranian Interior Ministry’s election headquarters announced that the registration of candidates for the parliamentary elections, which will be held on March 2, 2012, began on December 24 and will continue until December 30. According to the law, the candidates should adhere to the Constitution, the principles of the Islamic system and velayat-e faqih (rule of the supreme jurisprudent), and should have a master’s degree or a qualification which is equivalent to a master’s degree. All candidates should be vetted by the Guardian Council.
