Slovak Roman Polacik appointed as Iran water polo coach

TEHRAN,Dec.28 (MNA) – The Iranian Swimming Federation appointed Roman Polacik as the new coach of the water polo national team. The 49-year-old Slovak was a member of Czechoslovakia team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics Games. Details of Polacik’s contract have not been revealed. “Our short-term objectives are Asian Championships which takes place in Dubai in November 2012 as well as FINA Men's Water Polo World League 2012,” Executive Manager of the Iran’s Swimming Federation Mohsen Rezvani said. “Our long-term goal is to book a berth at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro,” he added.
