Iranian painter shares “False Feelings” at Tehran show

TEHRAN,Jan.1(MNA) -- Iranian young artist Reza Azimian is displaying a collection of his paintings in Tehran’s Asar Gallery, emphasizing the false and deceitful behavior and emotions most people are experiencing in the modern day world. Entitled “False Feelings”, the paintings are selected from his Download series depicting various characters and locations and his personal interest in the negative psychological effects of modern interactions. Azimian who has studied sociology explains about his paintings of “False Feelings” saying, “This collection is about people who are void of feelings and don’t know what they are thinking of most of the time. “The worst thing is that they even doubt what they are saying. They are mostly after each other’s approval, and these paintings actually narrate these troubled characters,” Azimian said in a press release published on Saturday. Part of the large paintings is made of two or three pieces, which the artist explains, “Canvases of several pieces are rooted in our thoughts, saying that they are not concentrated and centralized.” One of Azimian’s paintings from the Download series found its way into the recent Christie’s auction in Dubai. Azimian’s paintings have so far been exhibited in London, Istanbul and Dubai. The current exhibit will be running until January 18 at the gallery located on Barforushan St. off Iranshahr St.
