Sanctions Cannot Weaken Iran’s Determination: Pakistani Analyst

Islamabad, Jan 4, IRNA – Pakistani analyst on Tuesday said that sanctions cannot weaken determination of the people of Iran. Talking to IRNA, Nazir Husssain, Associate Professor, Department of International Relations, Quaid-i-Azam University said that western propaganda against Iran should end. He said that indigenous defense is very important for any country adding, ‘you cannot depend on foreign military aid’. The analyst, praising the progress of Iran, said that the country, because of policy of self sufficiency is developing in the defense sector. “Iran has built tanks and missiles and is not depending on foreign aids, this is how you maintain deterrence level”, he said. Nazir Husssain was of the view that Iran has become more powerful after the Islamic Revolution. He noted that the Islamic Revolution has given Iran a new direction with Islamic ideology. To a question, the analyst said geo politically it is right of Iran to ask foreign forces to leave the region. “Unfortunately Persian Gulf countries are not self sufficient and are dependent on American aid,” he regretted. Nazir Husssain expressing his views said presence of US and NATO forces is the real cause of instability in the region. He said dictators in Persian Gulf countries are afraid of democracy in Iran. The analyst asked Israel and US to stop meddling with the affairs of Middle East and let the regional countries to solve their issues. Nazir Husssain said Iran being an important country wants to have strong relations with all countries of the world. He viewed that Arab countries must come out of western pressure and enhance cooperation with Islamic Republic in all sectors. The analyst asked Arab countries to reciprocate Iranian efforts in bringing regional stability. Nazir Husssain was confident that the West will not be able to accomplish its designs against Iran, adding that western propaganda against Iran must end. He said sanctions have failed to stop progress of Iran adding that sanctions cannot weaken the determination of Iranian nation. The analyst said that Iran has always adopted the path of peace and wants to resolve all issues with west peacefully. “It is good to see that Iran has invited the Group 5+1 to come back to negotiations”, he said. Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili has said that Iran has invited the Group 5+1 to come back to negotiations and cooperation. Nazir Husssain has Ph.
