Iranian MP urges Turkey to modify Syria stance

TEHRAN, Jan. 4 (MNA) - Iranian MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Turkey needs to modify its policies toward Syria and accept the reality of Syria's developments if it seeks to find a kind of diplomacy compatible with that of the Islamic republic in this regard. Criticizing Turkey's stance regarding developments in Syria, Boroujerdi said that Turkey has adopted policies not conducive to "stability” in the region. Syria's agreement with the Arab League, however, disappointed Ankara, the legislator told . Turkey has been interfering in Syria’s internal affairs as the Damascus government is entangled in a conflict with opponents. He also added the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmed Davutoglu, who visits Tehran on Wednesday, and his Iranian counterpart Ali Akbar Salehi negotiate mostly over recent developments in Syria. Boroujerdi, who is the chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, announced that parliament speaker Ali Larijani will also visit Turkey soon.
