Director: Fajr Film Festival Int'l Section Finding Its Due Place

Tehran, Jan 4, IRNA – The acclaimed Iranian film director Rasoul Sadr Ameli said the international section of the Fajr International Film Festival is finding its due place in the world of cinema.
According to the festival’s public relations office, Sadr Ameli who is a member of the selection committee for international cinema competition section in the 30th Fajr International Film Festival said the section has finally found its due place.
Saying that the committee has so far watched over 90 films from Canada, Australia, Turkey, Egypt, South Korea and a number of European countries, the director of 'The Girl in Sneakers' and 'I Am Taraneh,15 years old' described them as “interesting movies in terms of subject, narrative, structure and technics.”
Sadr Ameli added: 'the international section of the festival is a place where outstanding films and filmmakers are introduced to the world.'
The selection committee of international cinema competition of Fajr International Film Festival includes Rasoul Sadr Ameli, Shahram Asadi, Mohammad Bozorgnia, Mehdi Homayounfar, and Julian Pelisse.
The committee will select 60 films out of 553 films received to the secretariat of the festival for different sections including, World Panorama (International Competition), Eastern Vista (Competition of Asian Cinema), Cinema of Salvation (Competition of Films from Islamic Countries), Golden Phoenix Prize of Asian Cultural Affinities, Golden Banner (Mustapha Akkad).
The 30th Fajr International Film Festival will be held February 1-11, 2012 in Tehran and some other Iranian provinces on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Islamic Revolution./end
