Iran plans to manufacture VTOL aircraft

TEHRAN, Jan. 5 (MNA) – The deputy commander of the Air Force for the coordination of affairs, Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh, announced on Wednesday that the Iranian Defense Ministry is studying a plan to design and manufacture vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft. On the role of the Air Force in the Navy’s recent war games, which were staged in a large area from the Strait of Hormuz to the Gulf of Aden, he said that Air Force fighter jets, in several operations, covered the naval units that engaged in battles with the hypothetical enemy.
