Iran condemns terror acts in Iraq
TEHRAN, Jan. 5 (MNA) - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian condemned the terrorist attacks that were carried out in Baghdad and Kazimiyah on Thursday.
Explosions struck Kazimiyah and Sadr city neighborhood in Baghdad killing at least 27 people and wounding many more civilians.
Amir-Abdollahian said that these conspiracies against Iraqi Muslims are aimed at simmering tribal confrontations “in this important country of the region”.
He added that such acts can not hinder the move of the Iraqi government and people toward stability, security, prosperity, and welfare.
The diplomat went on to say that those who have planned these acts help the “enemies of the region and cause insecurity”.
The silence of some countries regarding these terrorist acts is contrary to the establishment of peace and security in the region, the deputy FM said.
"We are sure that Iraqi people and officials maintain their struggle toward achieving security in this country without hesitation," Amir-Abdollahian concluded.
