TEHRAN,Jan.5(MNA) -- A documentary evokes nostalgia for “Qeisar”, an Iranian melodrama directed by Masud Kimiaii in 1969.
“Qeisar, 40 Years Later” was completed over two years ago, but it is scheduled to premiere during the 30th Fajr International Film Festival in Tehran in February.
Director Masud Najafi talks with cast and crew of the 1970s cult movie in the documentary.
Kimiaii, cast members Jamshid Mashayekhi, Jalal Pishvaian, Bahman Mofid, Puri Banaii, and Nasser Malakmotiei talk about the film in scenes from the documentary.
Late producer Abbas Shabaviz, cinematographer Maziar Partov and musician Esfandiar Monfaredzadeh were also interviewed for the film.
A group other actors including Ezzatollah Entezami, Amin Tarokh, Fatemeh Motamedaria, Saeid Raad and filmmakers Shapur Qarib, Sirus Alvand, Mohammad Motavasselani and Tahmineh Milani, who have watched “Qeisar”, also comment in the film.
However, the documentary excludes Behruz Vosuqi, expatriate leading actor of the film who starred as Qeisar.
Kimiaii’s the second feature, “Qeisar” is about Fati who kills herself after she is raped by Mansur Aqmangol. Her brother, Farman, plans to take revenge, but he too is killed. The other brother, Qeisar, then decides to take vengeance.
