IRGC to stage naval drill in Strait of Hormuz

TEHRAN, Jan.7 (MNA) – The IRGC naval force is to stage a war game entitled in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. The exercise, codenamed Payambar-e-Azam (Great Prophet), will begin on January 27. IRGC Naval Force Commander Ali Fadavi told a TV program on Thursday night that while "our brothers in the Navy" centered their war game in the Sea of Oman, the center of the IRGC war game will be "The Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz." On December 24 Iran's Navy launched a major 10-day war game entitled Velayat 90, covering an area stretching from the east of the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Aden.
