Iran and Tanzania to expand cultural relations

TEHRAN,Jan.9(MNA) – Tanzanian Minister for Information, Youth, Culture and Sports, Emmanuel Nchimbi met with the Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance here in Tehran on Saturday where they both stressed the expansion of cultural relations. Nchimbi held talks with Mohammad Hosseini in Tehran’s Vahdat Hall talking about cultural commonalities between the two countries emphasizing developing cultural ties. Hosseini also talked about teaching Persian language in African countries and said that the Persian language enjoys a significant position in East Africa and people are familiar with this language there. He also said that Iran possesses valuable experience in cinema and filmmaking, and is ready to collaborate with Tanzania. “Iran is ready to hold art and cultural weeks as well as book fairs in Tanzania. We also welcome artists from your country to take part in Iranian festivals of film, theater, visual arts and music,” Hosseini said. Nchimbi expressed his thanks, saying that this is the first time he has visited Iran and his delegation is in Iran to sign cultural agreements to develop relations. Hosseini next said that the Muslim nation of Tanzania asks Iran to make radio and TV programs based on the religion of Islam. They next signed an agreement to develop cultural cooperation, exchange books, film, CDs as well as art and cultural software. Also included is the dispatch of cultural delegations to visit and provide the basis for more collaboration in the areas of culture and sports. Both countries also agreed to exchange reporters and journalists and to develop cooperation between the news agencies.
