Turkish auto market grows 13.61 percent in 2011

ISTANBUL (A.A) - Turkey's automobile and light commercial vehicle (LCV) sales grew 13.61 percent in 2011 when compared with the previous year.
Mustafa Bayraktar, executive board chairman of the Automotive Distributors' Association (ODD), said Tuesday that a total of 864,439 cars and LCVs were sold in Turkey in 2011, hitting a new record.
Bayraktar said 593,519 cars and 270,920 LCVs were sold last year.
In 2010, a total of 760,913 automobiles and LCVs had been sold, he said.
127,910 cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in December 2011, he added.
