U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Burns' trip to Turkey
WASHINGTON (A.A) - The Spokesperson for the United States Department of State, Victoria Nuland, said Tuesday that "in a trip made to Turkey, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns discussed a number of issues of shared interest, including developments in Iraq, the importance of international solidarity on Iran, our shared concerns about the situation in Syria and ways that we can coordinate to support Egypt's democratic transition".
In a daily press briefing, Nuland talked about Burns' trip to Turkey.
"Deputy Secretary Burns obviously affirmed our continuing support for Turkey's own struggle to combat internal terrorism, and inclusive and transparent constitutional reform, and reiterated our desire to strengthen U.S.-Turkish economic ties," Nuland also said.
