Democratic elections and establishment of new government in Tunisia important developments, says President Gul

ANKARA (A.A) - January 11, 2012 - Turkish President Abdullah Gul said Wednesday that the democratic elections and the ensuing establishment of a new government in Tunisia were important developments that could be a model to regional countries progressing towards democracy and freedom. In a statement released on its web site, the Turkish Presidency said that President Gul told the visiting Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Abdessalem that they wanted to develop relations with Tunisia in all possible fields. Turkey, with its people and state, will always be on the side of Tunisia, Gul told Abdessalem. According to the Turkish Presidency, Minister Abdessalem told President Gul that they wanted to carry existing strategic relations to the maximum level possible and work with Turkey in all fields.
