Turkey attracts 12.1 billion USD of direct investments in first 11 months of 2011, says Economy Minister Caglayan

ANKARA (A.A) - January 11, 2012 - Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said Wednesday that Turkey attracted 12.1 billion USD of direct investments in the first 11 months of 2011. In a meeting hosted by the Air-Conditioning Industry Exporters' Union in Ankara, Caglayan stressed that direct investments in Turkey went up 70 percent in the first 11 months of 2011 when compared to the previous year. 86 percent of all direct investments that came to Turkey in the first 11 months of 2011 were from Europe, Caglayan noted. Touching on Turkey's service exports, Caglayan said that Turkish exports of service, including tourism, health, logistics and banking, in the first 11 months of 2011 were worth 37 billion USD.
