Iran-Turkey cooperation will help promote regional peace : Iranian speaker

TEHRAN, Jan. 15 (MNA)-- During a meeting with Turkish President Abdullah Gul on Thursday in Ankara, Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani said that the consultations between the Islamic Republic and Turkey will help promote peace and security in the region. Larijani also expressed satisfaction with the increase of trade interactions between the two countries and said that the economic cooperation is indicative of the fact that Tehran-Ankara relations in all spheres are close and will be closer in the future. Commenting on the recent trip of Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu to Tehran, Larijani said that during the trip the two sides held fruitful negotiations. He went on to say that the two countries have conducted successful negotiations over regional issues which should be continued. Larijani also said that the Islamic Republic and Turkey are determined to cement relations in all spheres. During the meeting, the Turkish president described Tehran-Ankara ties as close and said that the two countries need to continue consultations on various issues. He said that the relationship between the two administrations is important, but the relationship between the two parliaments can have a more positive impact on the relations.
