Afghan children welcome “Good Stories”
TEHRAN,Jan.15(MNA) -- The Afghan children warmly welcomed the Dari narration of a selection of stories from Mehdi Azar Yazdi’s “Good Stories for Good Children”.
Children from Mazar-i-Sharif, Kabul and Heart warmly welcomed stories selected from the eighth volume of the collection, Afghan writer and CD producer Mohammad Sarvar-Rajaii told .
Mohammad-Amin Zavari and Masumeh Ahmadi narrated 20 stories in Dari, mostly with religious themes, that were selected from the eighth volume of “Good Stories for Good Children”.
He said that they are also selecting some stories from the life of the Prophet (S) which are written by Persian authors other than Azar Yazdi.
“The story selection is not complete yet and will probably take a long time since the budget for the project is being covered by personal funds,” he added.
The series has been released by Mah-e No Publications which is newly established to boost literary works for Afghan children.
“Good Stories for Good Children” won a UNESCO prize in 1966 and was selected as Iran’s best book of the year in 1967.
The book was written in eight volumes based on the great works of Persian literature like the Gulistan (The Rose Garden), Masnavi-e Manavi, Marzban-Nameh, Sinbadnameh, and some stories from the Holy Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad (S) and his Household (AS).
