Turkey to privatize Baskent Natural Gas company in 2012

ANKARA (A.A) - January 16, 2012 - Turkey will privatize Baskent Natural Gas company as well as bridges and highways in 2012. Bridges and highways will be privatized as a single package and for 25 years. Edirne-Istanbul-Ankara, Pozanti-Tarsus-Mersin, Tarsus-Adana-Gaziantep, Toprakkale-Iskenderun, Gaziantep-Sanliurfa, Izmir-Cesme and Izmir-Aydin highways, Izmir and Ankara Freeways, Bosphorus Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge in Istanbul, covering a total of 1,975 kilometers, are planned to be privatized in 2012. Deadline to apply to tenders was set as May, 17, 2012. Meanwhile, the privatization of 80 percent of Baskent Natural Gas Comp. is considered as the most important privatization of this year. Deadline to bid the tender was set as January 27, 2012.
