Irak Turkmen Front head says Turkmens' future in danger

BAGHDAD (A.A) - Chairman of the Iraqi Turkmen Front Arshad al-Salehi said that the future of Turkmens in Iraq was in danger. Speaking to AA correspondent, Salehi said some wanted Iraq to be divided into three: Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds, stating that they did not want Turkmens there. Salehi said that Turkmens needed a full support, because their future was in danger. Salehi said the front would attend a national conference that would be held in Iraq in the coming days and Turkmens would be represented in this conference with Turkmen Front. Turkmens would present their demands in the conference, he said. "We will ask support of everyone there. We will hold talks. We will demand meetings from political groups and parties," he said. Turkmens should be regarded as cement of Iraq, he said.  (Reporting by Nazmi Akyol)
