Turkey attracted $12.1 bln of international direct investment

GAZIANTEP (A.A) - January 18, 2012 - Turkey has attracted 12.1 billion USD of international direct investment in the first 11 months of 2011, said head of investment agency of Turkey. Ilker Ayci, chairman of Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Prime Ministry, said at a meeting in southeastern province of Gaziantep that foreign direct investments in Turkey rose by 70 percent in 2011 when compared to 2010, but it was not sufficient. "We aim to attract 30-40 billion USD of foreign direct investment to Turkey," he said. The number of foreign companies in Turkey has increased to nearly 30,000, he said.
