Turkish MFA concerned after Syria rejects Arab League decision

ANKARA (A.A) - January 24, 2012 - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Tuesday said that Syria's rejection of a decision taken by the Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers in Cairo on January 22 was a matter of great concern to Turkey.
In a statement released Tuesday, the Turkish MFA said that the loss of lives in Syria during rallies and protests made by people with legitimate demands continued to be a matter of serious concern.
The Arab League's decision taken following a report prepared by the Arab League observers shows that the Syrian administration did not act constructively in fulfilling its obligations. In this context, it is a must for the Syrian administration to end violence, withdraw military personnel from all cities, and permit the Arab League observers and international media members to travel freely in the country, the MFA stressed.
