We plan to increase our exports by 12 pct in 2012, says Chairman of Turkish Exporters' Assembly

ISTANBUL (A.A) - Chairman of the Turkish Exporters' Assembly (TIM), Mehmet Buyukeksi, said Wednesday that they planned to increase their exports by 12 percent in 2012. Speaking at a press conference in Istanbul's Ceylan Intercontinental Hotel, Buyukeksi said that they planned to make exports worth 151 billion USD in 2012. Between January 1 and 24, Turkey's exports were up 13.3 percent when compared to the same term last year. Such a figure is parallel to our expectations, Buyukeksi underlined. Touching on Turkey's current account deficit, Buyukeksi said that they expected a decline in Turkey's current accounts deficit in 2012. Turkey's current accounts deficit has been going down in the past two months, Buyukeksi also noted.
