Turkey's population 74.7 million

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey's population was 74,724,269 at the end of 2011. Turkish Statistical Authority, TurkStat, made public Friday results of the census conducted through the Address-Based Population Registration System which uses the National Address Database to track the number of people living at a specific address. Turkey's population increased by 1.35 percent to 74.7 million at the end of 2011 when compared to the previous year. The figure was 73.7 million at the end of 2010. 50.2 percent of total population of Turkey was male and 49.8 percent was female.
