Turkey condemns attack in Baghdad

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) on Saturday condemned the bomb attack that killed 28 people in Baghdad on Friday.
In a statement released Saturday, the MFA said that "we have learned with great sorrow that, according to the initial estimates, 28 people died and 61 were wounded as a result of a bomb attack which took place in the south-eastern part of Baghdad on January 27".
"We strongly condemn this treacherous terrorist attack which targeted a funeral procession that included women and children. We wish mercy upon those who lost their lives in the attack, extend our condolences to the bereaved families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to those injured," the MFA said.
"On this sad occasion, we would like to strongly reiterate that Turkey will always act in full solidarity with the friendly and neighborly Iraqi people in combating terrorism," the MFA also said.
