127 countries apply to Turkey for work permit

ANKARA (A.A) - February 1, 2012 - Many people from 127 countries applied to Turkey for work permit in 2011. According to figures of Labor & Social Security Ministry, Turkey gave temporary permits to 11,634 people, permanent permits to 29 people, and extended work permits of 5,073 people from 127 countries last year. Russia tops the list of people who applied to Turkey to have work permit, and it was followed by Ukraine and China. 1,270 Russians, 1,084 Ukrainians and 966 Chinese people applied to Turkey for work permit in 2011. Meanwhile, the ministry detected 3,010 foreigners who were working in Turkey illegally in 2011.
